HI HO IDAHO!!

It has been a rather long time since I actually blogged about anything...so, here it goes...

In June, I moved to Rexburg, Idaho, to begin a new chapter in my life as I began working for BYU-Idaho. It happened really fast and is such a blessing in my life. I was working in Provo and a few months back felt the need to look for other opportunities. One weekend I went to visit a dear friend of mine in Rexburg and thought I would just look at the job postings at BYU-I for fun. I did and when I arrived at her house, we discussed the opportunities. After much thought and prayer, I felt extremely good about applying for a few jobs and did so. After a full day interview and some more waiting, I was offered the job of Course Improvement Coordinator! It really is amazing how Heavenly Father knows what we need when we need it. It felt so right from the beginning and am so thankful that it actually worked out.

So, I am working in the online learning department working with course improvements. My previous job was very good training grounds for preparing me for this opportunity. Basically, I supervise a team of students that actually make the requested fixes and improvements that are submitted by teachers and course leads. I make sure that things move efficiently and are successfully implemented. I am also tasked with working with online councils in establishing policies and procedures and looking for ways in which we can improve our capabilities to work with instructors. I am learning a lot and feel that I am beginning to get the hang of things.

It is so fun to work at a place where the scriptures are used and discussed in everyday work. The town of Rexburg is small, but I am having such a grand time exploring. This morning, early, my roommate Kriss and I went to Driggs to see the hot air balloons launch, but they didn't because the weather wasn't good enough to do so. However, we were able to get some pictures of the Tetons which I have never seen before--BEAUTIFUL!! These pictures were taken about 6:30 this morning--after leaving at 4:45 to drive to Driggs.

Love to all!!

Halloween Party

I am not the best dresser upper for Halloween, but when I found out about our work Halloween party, my co-wokers and I came up with some good stuff. After passing on the three blind mice and the three stooges, we decided to dress up to represent our team job title--Supplemental Educational Services (SES). Can you guess who is who?

I love that I got a good sized bubble! I had a great accent too!

10/10/10

As my sister can relate to, I have this quirk about numbers...I like them best when they are even. The construction of the 8 is my favorite--why, you might ask? Well, it is comprised of circles and I love the uniformity. So, what a perfect day to post some thoughts of this perfect day of evens--10/10/10. I love it! Okay, enough OCD talk...

I life has definitely changed during the past six weeks. I got a great job at a company in Provo, Utah, though I live close to Lehi. Though I enjoyed being with my parents, it is so nice to be in a bigger city with lots of people to meet and places to go. Also, my car died my second week out here, and my brother found me the best deal ever on a used car that I love driving.

I have learned a lot about patience and faith--I learned that I need more of both of them. :)
I have also been reminded of how much Heavenly Father knows each of us and our needs at any moment in time. He is aware and cares, but teaches and trains us along the way.

What have been some of your lessons learned in the last six weeks?

Whip Cream on Nose Lady...

On occasion my dad reminds me that as a child I was completely fascinated with Carol Burnett. I might not have known her name then, but I knew she was funny. I mean, any person that would put whip cream on her nose in front of a camera for a television audience has got to have a grand sense of humor, right? Uhhh, yeah! I loved watching her show and especially loved it when the actors would crack up! Pure entertainment!

Yesterday I saw a play entitled "39 Steps" and witnessed a similar predicament. It was a cast of 4 with three of the actors playing a variety of different characters. It was a truly crazy play, but my enjoyment increased 10 fold (I don't really know how much that is, but it has to be a lot!) when two of the actors couldn't contain their laughter when one of the male actors was impersonating a Scottish woman. He was a riot and the two actors couldn't keep a straight face. The audience roared as they saw the laughing actors lose it. It brought me back to the hilarity and fun that the Carol Burnett show brought to my life. Thank heavens for funny people with outstanding comedic timing.

This world could use a little more laughter!

Music Men and Women

I love music! I have been singing along to it and dancing to its grooves for many years now. It has a life force of its own; it transcends language and culture barriers. Some songs may soothe an aching heart while others promote introspection. Some songs can promote giddiness while others stick in your brain until you can't take it anymore. We have all had that happen I am sure.

I love the band Lifehouse! They know how to create great music. A few months back when I was involved in a rather bizarre situation, there were 4 songs off of their new album that summed up the situation perfectly:

First I was "All In", next I was "Hafeway Gone", then came the point when I had "Had Enough", and finally, the situation ended by being "It Is What It Is". Don't you love it when music sums up a situation better than you can? Thanks for the great tunes you music men and women!

Family everywhere I look!

This past week I had an awesome time with many members of family. A nephew was baptized and confirmed, two babies were blessed, and a whole lot of swimming took place. While we had almost everyone here, we were able to finagle some family pictures. I am so glad that we took the time to do it. Here a few of the pictures. We had 30 people so it was a little nuts!

Here is a smilely picture against the red rocks of St. George.

Here are the funny faces!

Here are my bros and sis. It is weird to think that we are all grown up. Where did the time go...
